Essential Oil of Grapefruit is a Wonderfully Detoxifying!
This superior detoxifying agent may help the body to flush out the body’s toxins, disinfect and cleanse the skin, and lift spirits. The scent can often brighten emotion and help to relieve stress and anxiety, while the high limonene content can be a powerful supporter of skin issues.
Use grapefruit whenever you’d like to lighten your mood, strengthen digestive or cardiovascular function, or promote energy. The following five protocols will get you jumpstarted on applications for this uplifting oil. Dilute in a 1:1 ratio with a carrier oil, unless directed otherwise.
This oil is a fantastic supporter of digestive health. To combat digestive issues, place a drop of oil in a glass of drinking water and apply a topical application to the abdomen, massaging in a clockwise motion. Also, massage into the reflex points on the feet. For general digestive support, diffuse throughout the home.
For those who feel low energy, run a hot bath and disperse three drops of grapefruit in the bathwater. Soak for twenty minutes, inhaling deeply. You can also diffuse the oil or apply topically, diluted, in a full body massage to boost circulation and promote energy and cognitive function.
No need for that greasy plate of meat and hash browns; a topical grapefruit application is a fantastic hangover fix. Dilute accordingly and massage into the chest, abdomen, and reflex points (avoid going in the sun once applied). You can also take doTERRA grapefruit – 1-2 drops in a glass of sparkling water and also cup into hands and inhale directly. You can also add Lemon, Peppermint to support the stomach and also 1-2 drops in water of Wild Orange essential oil too throughout the day for that extra support.
Grapefruit may help to suppress addictive urges and assist depressive moods which can also play a big part in the hangover. Dilute accordingly and apply over the solar plexus, the stomach, the heart, or the back of the neck. To take as a flavouring, place a single drop on the tip of your tongue or in a glass of drinking water. Alternatively, you can use aromatically by inhaling directly, diffusing throughout the room, or using the cup-and-inhale method – simply place a drop in your palms and rub them together then, cupping your hands over your nose, and breathe deeply and calmly in and out. Do this for several minutes or until the craving has passed. Note *if going out in the sun, avoid topical use on skin.
I only use doTERRA grapefruit essential oil as it is a food-grade essential oil that has been thoroughly tested. I would only suggest the use of doTERRA essential oils for flavouring use due to their high standards of testing.
